it's near impossible to belittle sandra more than she's done so to herself.

My enemy, my parents. They make me sick of life, they are racist against punk (see their level...) and ... oh fuck's sake. I define them as monsters. Hope they die very quickly and soon.

But for real, how does it stack up next to the movie?

I only saw the movie once and I don't remember much about it, only that they movie-ified it to make it dramatic (there wasn't some big confrontation with Lisa down in the tunnels, nor did they break out of the asylum to witness Daisy's suicide), but I really like the book. it's an intimate account of Susanna Kaysen's experience with suicide and insanity, calling into question the validity of her own diagnosis and the whole structure of mental health institutions. It has some dark humor in it but doesn't get shocking or anything. At it's worst it's interesting, and at best relatable and thought-provoking

I'll put it on the list. Sounds good enough. And it's like only 200 pages or something so why not

Reading Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill right now. Tried finding somethin spooky for October. It's admittedly kinda gay (as in paperback bargain bin quality at times) but I'm almost done and I've gotten this far... only got like sixty pages left so whatever.

Joe Hill can be a pretty solid writer, but the main character in Heart Shaped Box reminded me want to smack him. Check out his comic Locke&Key or N0S4A2.
Someone should ship me the new David Wong book.

I'll check it out if the library has it.
Also saw John Dies at the End but haven't read it. That David Wong right?
